Pirelli Cyber™ Tyre Wins V2X Innovation of the Year at Autotech Breakthrough Awards 2025
Pirelli’s Cyber™ Tyre has been awarded the prestigious title of “Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Innovation of the Year” at the 2025 Autotech Breakthrough Awards, recognizing its groundbreaking contribution to smart mobility and connected vehicle technology.
What Is Cyber™ Tyre?
Cyber™ Tyre is the world’s first intelligent tyre system that collects real-time data directly from the tyre via embedded sensors. This data is processed using Pirelli’s proprietary algorithms and transmitted to the vehicle’s electronic control systems, including ABS, ESP, and traction control, enhancing safety and performance.
V2X Connectivity and Smart Mobility
Developed in collaboration with Bosch Engineering, Cyber™ Tyre supports Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications. This enables vehicles to share real-time road condition data, interact with traffic systems, and support urban mobility management, contributing to the development of smart cities and autonomous driving technologies.
Adoption and Future Outlook
Cyber™ Tyre technology is already in use on several high-end and premium vehicle models. Pirelli aims to expand its application to a broader range of vehicles and functionalities through V2X connectivity, positioning the tyre as a key component in the future of smart, connected, and data-driven mobility.
