GT Radial Clinches 2025 Tire Cup Victory in Formula DRIFT
GT Radial has secured the 2025 Tire Cup in the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship after the final round at Long Beach on October 17. This is the brand’s second Tire Cup win in three years, signalling a strong upward trajectory in competitive tyre performance.
The success was underpinned by multiple top-10 finishes from GT Radial-equipped drivers. Japanese drifting sensation Hiroya Minowa recorded a second-place finish in the Long Beach event, while several others in the team consistently secured podiums throughout the season.
GT Radial’s Champiro SX2 RS tyre, manufactured in South Carolina, carried the team to this victory. The achievement is being positioned not just as a motorsport win but as evidence of how high-performance tyre engineering can translate into everyday products suited for serious drivers and aftermarket users.
In addition to championship success, the brand says the result helps build customer confidence by linking track performance with consumer-available tyres. With five drivers from GT Radial finishing in the top 10 of the standings, the brand’s depth and consistency stand out in a highly competitive field.

For the tyre industry, the victory by GT Radial is more than a trophy; it is a signal of where high-performance mobility is headed. Motorsport wins like this carry a significant impact because they demonstrate how products tested under extreme conditions can influence brand equity and consumer trust. For the Indian tyre market and aftermarket stakeholders in Asia, this means tracking such wins matters. A brand that proves performance on track may command greater attention and share off the track. Tyre makers, dealers, and distributors should look at how alignments between their competition programmes and consumer offerings can create stronger brand metrics and market value.
