Nokian Tyres Unveils Smart Tires for Tractors with Intuitu 2.0 Load-Sensing Tech

Nokian Tyres has introduced its next-generation smart tyre solution, Intuitu 2.0 Smart Pressure Assistant, developed for the Soil King VF tractor tyre range. The smart system uses integrated sensors inside the tyres to detect actual operating weight and working conditions, and then delivers tyre pressure recommendations via a mobile application. This streamlines a process that traditionally required weighbridges or complex calculations.

The technology is designed to help agricultural professionals optimise productivity, reduce fuel consumption, protect soil health, and extend tyre life by ensuring correct inflation under varying loads and field or road conditions. Intuitu 2.0 has already earned a Silver Medal at the Agritechnica Innovation Award, underlining its practical value and relevance in the agricultural sector.

With this launch, Nokian signals that smart tyres, equipped with IoT-based sensing and load adaptation, are moving beyond concept stages into commercial readiness for off-highway segments. The move is expected to influence how tyres are managed, maintained, and integrated with vehicle systems in farm operations. The application covers selected Soil King VF sizes, with further expansion expected globally. Nokian Tyres

This launch underscores a major shift in tyre technology. Smart tyres like Intuitu 2.0 are no longer experimental; they’re entering the market and starting to influence how tyres are selected, used, and serviced. For the tyre industry, and particularly for farm/ag-equipment tyres, this means a deeper integration of sensing, data, and service models. Tyre makers, dealers, and OEMs will need to consider not just tread patterns and compounds but digital interfaces, real-time condition monitoring, and new value-added services. The ripple effect extends to manufacturing, supply chain, and aftermarket ecosystems.
