JK Tyre earns EcoVadis silver rating, ranks in top 7% globally
JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has secured a Silver rating from EcoVadis, placing the Indian tyre maker in the top seven per cent of companies worldwide assessed for sustainability performance, industry sources report.
The globally recognised EcoVadis assessment covers four key pillars: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. JK Tyre scored 77 out of 100 overall for fiscal 2025, with its environmental performance emerging as a standout strength, earning high marks for climate action, energy efficiency, and emissions management. The silver rating underscores the company’s progress in embedding responsible business practices throughout its operations and supply chain. Dr Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries, said the recognition reflects the company’s continued focus on environmental stewardship, ethical governance, and sustainable sourcing as part of long-term value creation for stakeholders.
Industry watchers say the EcoVadis accolade enhances JK Tyre’s sustainability credentials at a time when global customers and investors are increasingly prioritising environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. The rating also aligns with the tyre maker’s broader initiatives, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency across manufacturing sites.

JK Tyre’s EcoVadis Silver rating is more than an accolade; it’s a strategic endorsement of its sustainability journey that could influence purchasing decisions in increasingly eco-conscious markets. For the tyre industry, sustainability ratings are becoming a differentiator, not just in compliance but also in brand value, customer trust, and global competitiveness.
As regulatory and customer expectations tighten around carbon footprints, ethical labour practices, and responsible sourcing, tyre makers that can demonstrate credible performance metrics will have an edge in both domestic and export markets. JK Tyre’s achievement signals that Indian manufacturers can compete on global sustainability benchmarks, potentially opening doors for stronger OEM partnerships and institutional investments.
However, sustaining and improving on this rating will require continued focus, especially in supply chain transparency and circular economy practices such as tyre recycling and material innovation. In a world where sustainability ratings increasingly impact procurement and financing decisions, tyre companies that embed ESG into their core operations will likely steer ahead of the curve.
