HONOR and BYD Team Up to Advance AI-Powered Intelligent Mobility

HONOR, the global AI device ecosystem company, has entered a strategic partnership with BYD, the new-energy vehicle manufacturer, to co-develop AI-powered intelligent mobility solutions. The collaboration integrates HONOR’s connectivity technologies with BYD’s DiLink smart vehicle ecosystem, with the aim of creating seamless, human-centric mobility experiences.

The partnership will focus on three key pillars: firstly, technology and features including cross-device integration, AI agents, and a high-precision Bluetooth-based digital car key; secondly, a shared channel ecosystem combining HONOR’s connected vehicle capabilities and BYD’s intelligent platforms to maximise interoperability; and thirdly, joint communications and user engagement via co-branded launches and marketing.

HONOR and BYD’s collaboration dates back to 2023, when they introduced smartphone NFC car keys for BYD vehicles, followed by in-vehicle fast charging in 2024. This latest phase deepens their integration across devices and vehicles, targeting a future where smartphones, cars, and daily life operate as one intelligent ecosystem.

Tyre Times’ View:
While this story centres on connectivity and smart mobility rather than tyres per se, it highlights how the automotive ecosystem is evolving into an integrated digital mobility domain. As devices and vehicles merge, suppliers of all mobility components, including tyres, must anticipate new demands such as connected monitoring, load analytics, and lifecycle data. Even if the focus is on AI and connectivity today, the underlying shift influences how component ecosystems, including tyres, are designed and managed for usage, maintenance, and performance.
