BKT Unveils Cutting-Edge EARTHMAX Tyre Range at IME 2025
Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) has introduced a new suite of five advanced variants from its EARTHMAX tyre range at the International Mining Exhibition (IME) 2025 in Kolkata. The series is designed to meet the rigorous demands of both surface and underground mining operations in India.
Held from October 30 to November 2, the IME 2025 event provided a platform for BKT to engage with OEMs, mining professionals, and industry stakeholders under the theme “Innovative & Responsible Mining for Inclusive Growth”. The company emphasised its commitment to combining research, technology, and local expertise to support India’s evolving mining ecosystem.
The new EARTHMAX variants focus on durability, performance, and safety in harsh mining conditions. Key features include reinforced casings, advanced tread compounds, and designs suited to heavy load cycles and abrasive surfaces. These attributes align with the tyre industry’s growing emphasis on engineered solutions for mine-haul fleets and off-highway equipment. Auctions and field tests suggest a rising premium for tyres that deliver lower downtime and longer operational life.

For the tyre and off-highway industry, BKT’s launch at IME 2025 signals a shift from commodity rubber to application-specific engineering. Manufacturers should take note: mining tyres are no longer simply large-format versions of consumer tyres. They demand specialised design, monitoring, and aftermarket service. As India’s mining sector expands and requires higher performance and accountability, tyre makers who align product development, retread or service offerings, and global supply capabilities will gain an edge.
