VNT Launches India’s First 1 MW EV Charger, Setting a New Benchmark in Fast Charging
VNT has launched India’s first 1 megawatt (MW) electric vehicle (EV) charger, marking a major milestone in the country’s EV infrastructure development. The new high-capacity charger is designed to drastically cut down charging time for heavy-duty EVs such as electric trucks and buses, making large-scale electrification of logistics and transport fleets more practical.
The company announced that the 1 MW charger will support both commercial and industrial EV segments, ensuring compatibility with multiple charging standards. It’s built to handle simultaneous charging for multiple vehicles, a key requirement as India moves toward a more robust EV ecosystem.
This launch places VNT among global pioneers in high-power charging technology, a space dominated by a few international players. The charger is expected to enhance the efficiency of fleet operations, reduce downtime, and strengthen India’s push toward sustainable mobility.
VNT’s focus on indigenous development also highlights the growing capability of Indian companies to produce advanced technology locally, in line with the “Make in India” initiative.
Tyre Times’ View:
VNT’s 1 MW charger is more than a technological leap, it’s a signal that India’s EV landscape is maturing quickly. As charging time drops, the appeal of electric commercial vehicles grows, potentially transforming logistics and mobility networks. The faster EVs move, the faster tyres evolve too, built for endurance, torque, and instant acceleration.
